Canal Point Den Renovation
Project Overview
This renovation took place on the third floor of a high-end townhouse development in Canal Point, West Bay. The owner wanted to convert a den into a new sleeping space with the bathroom having panoramic floor-to-ceiling sliding windows and luxurious fixtures and fittings.
Risk and Constraints
Creating a bedroom with adequate natural light while incorporating a bathroom with panoramic views required innovative design solutions to balance privacy, natural lighting, and luxury finishes.
Strategy & Implementation
The design was done for the client using BIM software, with plans simulated onto the floor, adjustments made, and the design became reality. The standout feature was incorporating natural light through the shower into the bedroom by installing a framed fixed safety glass into the wall partition in the shower.
Achievements
A key factor in the design decisions was the drive for sustainability - not only with regards to energy consumption, but health and wellbeing. The natural light solution proved both practical and elegant. Project completed in 2026.
