Elizabethan Square Phase 2
Project Overview
This contract formed part of the overall Elizabethan Square Phase 2 contract package. The minor works scope was spread across two of the many buildings that make up Elizabethan Square: Amerigo House and Bodden House.
Risk and Constraints
Amerigo House had the majority of works and most complicated requirements - new fire-rated refuge areas and common works. The fire-rated partitions required a total weight of 9,000 lbs of 2" thick multiple layered laminated fire-rated glazing with the largest piece of glass weighing 1,300 lbs.
Strategy & Implementation
The logistics of delivering the glass on each of the four floors took coordinated teamwork from the project team and contractor. Bodden House entailed the addition of a reinforced concrete AC pad with access rail from the parking lot to the upper floor units.
Achievements
The complex coordination and technical expertise required for the fire-rated glazing installation was successfully executed. Project ongoing with completion expected in 2026.
