Plymouth at Clipper Bay
Project Overview
Plymouth at Clipper Bay is a luxurious apartment complex exceeding 50,000 sq. ft, located at Clipper Bay off West Bay Road. While FSG was not the general contractor, a member of our design team, Christopher Allen, was intimately involved throughout the pre-construction and build phase as the quantity surveyor and construction manager.
Risk and Constraints
The true test of the project came about during the COVID-19 pandemic which saw an increase in labour shortage and significant price increases for materials and services.
Strategy & Implementation
Strategic negotiating skills were needed and demonstrated to implement risk sharing responses among the stakeholders, including the general contractor. The value management process was a key part of the process, particularly the value engineering process in the pre-construction phases.
Achievements
Despite the pandemic challenges, the project was successfully completed through collaborative stakeholder management and strategic value engineering, delivering a premium residential complex.
